invites you to
Panorama Bar / Berghain Residents Night NYC at Cielo (Event Over)
Have you ever gotten down and dirty at Panorama Bar or Berghain in
Berlin? If you have and it was due to the exhibitionist darkrooms
and the genderless bathrooms, the news of a Panorama Bar/Berghain
Residents Night NYC at Cielo might not excite you much. No
darkrooms and no sexy bathrooms. BUT: if you loved it also for the
music - the forward-thinking and ruthless techno sound that
Berghain and Panorama Bar stand for, you should definitely mark
Thursday, September 13th on your calendar! The sound of Berlin's
most notorious club is coming to New York City!
Berghain, located in the same building with Panorama Bar, is one of
the most spectacular and respected Techno and House clubs in the
world. Since the inception, it has developed into an
enthusiastically absorbed and universally recognized Mecca that
stands for musically sophisticated clubbing. The programming here
has shaped not only Germany's but Europe's electronic music scene.
Berghain is famous for its wildly mixed crowd, leaving class and
gender divisions far behind, together finding a playground in the
darkrooms. Until now, New Yorkers had to pilgrim across the
Atlantic to experience the Club's forward-thinking sound, but
that's no longer necessary: Berghain's and Panorama Bar’s
Resident signature sound is coming to New York City!
Supported by the minimoo crew, Berghain and Panorama Bar will
premiere an exclusive Resident Night at Cielo on September 13th,
2007 featuring the US debut of
Marcel Dettmann. Influenced by classic sounds of Chicago and Detroit and
interpreted with a contemporary German twist, Marcel is one of the
supporting pillars of the Berghain techno sound where he's been a
resident for eight years. 2007 marked his international
breakthrough not only as a DJ but also as a producer: his track
"Sepia 807" -that appears on Cocoon Compilation G- has caused quite
a stir in techno land and earned him lots of recognition far beyond
German borders. It surely helps that Marcel also works at Berlin's
highly influential record store Hard Wax, one of the world's
leading dealers in the field of cutting edge electronic dance music
and a DJ mecca in its own right.
Performing alongside Marcel is Spectral Sound's resident DJ,
Ryan Elliott. Ryan is best known for his meticulously programmed sets that have
stretched up to 24 hours long, and range from ice cold minimal
techno to summery house beats. With a seemingly effortless
connection to his audience, he has also become a regular guest at
Panorama Bar in Berlin.
Come and welcome Berlin to New York City!!!
