I am sorry I guest you are right. Maybe my critic of was unfair and for that I am sincerely sorry. Now about the problem about the R&B comment what upset me is that you did not offer me any other singers for me to listen to see if I like the music. When I mentioned her looks, I was not talking about the way she dressed, she could have come out on stage dressed in all black and claiming to be the grim reaper, that those not bother me, what did bother me is that she looked like she was on drugs. I believe that is what got me upset, to me any performer that make a decision to abuses there body like that I feel should not longer have fan, maybe it is wrong but it is the way I feel. Any case I have nothing against you, each of us have his or her own opinion that is what makes this world so wonderful, we can share ideas and still respect each other.

nah those posts were just OLD dawg! outdated and read by the organizers who they were intended for. who needs to trainspot that pessimistic ranting attitude. Maybe next time they won't bother inviting any artists at all. that was hardly watergate you "uncovered". Obviously somebody was embarrassed since your "constructive crit" was noted.

Each event's message board and RSVP list, if it has one, is controlled by whoever posted the event -- in this case Cheeky. Going.com had nothing to do with the deletion. You can view the repost if you want. It's still there. My personal opinion is that the availability of the delete feature should remain, but it should only be used if the post is spam or something like that, something that CLEARLY doesn't belong on the board, not just something that differs from the view of whoever posted the event. This requires event posters to be on the honor system.

Shame on going.com! Not only is their RSVP meaningless, but they also have the audacity to delete posts.

I was not offended and, not incidentally did not intend to offend you. It seemed from your initial comments that you could not relate to music sung by someone without a great voice who looks great doing it. That way of approaching music is going to eliminate from consideration a lot of people doing a lot of music from a lot of different genres that a lot of people really love and respect and deservedly so -- people like Bob Dylan and Lou Reed to name just two more. I am neither a racist nor a moron, but I see why you would wrongly come to that conclusion from my initial reply so I wish I'd chosen my words more carefully. I didn't, for the record, make the comment about R&B because you're black. I made it because of the nature of that genre of music placing a premium on classically great voices and classically nice looking singers. It's interesting that you mention that you're a Christian. I don't believe that Christ was big on unfairly trashing people as thoroughly as you did Courtney. I still think you don't understand punk rock or you wouldn't have said what you said. But let's say for argument's sake you do. Fair criticism has to take context into consideration. In the context of punk rock classically great voices are almost a disadvantage because it's really hard to express raw emotion with that kind of voice. Also in the world of punk the fans want people they feel are more one of them, like regular people, not someone set apart, so if it's ever fair to criticize a performer's appearance -- and it sort of never is, or really anyone's -- it's particularly inappropriate to criticize a punk rocker's appearance because looking like a regular person rather than a star helps draw the fans and the performers closer together because they can relate to each other more as equals. It's interesting that you mention that you're a fan of country and especially that you're a fan of metal because the things I'm saying here apply to those genres as well, although with the current state of country music maybe a little less so. Once upon a time in country music they were really true.

You may have noticed if you read the repost of opposing viewpoints below that when I responded to Caren who defended the handling of the show I responded in a fair and balanced way. She actually added me as a friend. I guess because her post was thoughtful and well reasoned, even though I disagreed with her, it was easier to respond to her post in kind. When I read your initial post, it did not seem to me to be thoughtful, well reasoned or fair. It just seemed to be a rant from someone who didn't understand the music. So I responded to that in kind and, I guess I have to admit, that wasn't fair of me. So, I'm sorry for that.

BTW, it's been my observation that Wiccans typically are pretty nice people. One could almost say they behave in a Christian manner even though, of course, they don't have the same beliefs about Christ that Christians do.

I agree. The R&B comment was a low blow.

I am sorry for offending you it was not my intention to offend any one how ever it was my opinion. Further more I did not go to the concert with any preexisting notions I went to be entertained, I did not go to see a train wreck I even sent people to hear her I thought it would be good. Now as to the matter of the crack you made about R&B clubs, I do not listen to R&B, Listen to all kinds of music from country to heavy metal from Kenny Rogers to God Smack considering the lead singer of God Smack is a known wicking, and I am a Christian. Now for you to attack every one that has a different opinion than you shows that you r a moron, and if you made that statement because I am black then you are a racist moron.

Do you understand anything about punk rock? It isn't about having a classicly great voice or looking great. It's about raw emotion. Why were you there taking up space from real fans? I wonder how many curiosity seekers like yourself were in there taking up space and then complaining about the show and reducing the chances of real fans like myself getting in. Next time just go to whatever R&B club you usually go to and hear music you really want to hear. You'll be happier and so will everyone else.
