Courtney Love was the frontwoman for Hole and also periodically takes acting roles. She was in "Sid and Nancy" the film about Sid Vicious of The Sex Pistols and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. She didn't play Nancy. I don't remember who she played. It was a small role. She was also married to Kurt Cobain, the frontman of Nirvana who committed suicide about 15 years ago. Hole had been around for quite a while, but Nirvana being what it was sort of overshadowed Hole. That is until Kurt killed himself and then people started paying attention to Hole. Ironically just prior to his death she recorded an album called "Live Through This" the title of which and the songs contained in took on another level of meaning with Kurt's death. I think the last Hole album was "Celebrity Skin" which she had Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins help her with. This album was much less punk and more mainstream. There was a song "Malibu" that was played on radio a lot. Hole broke up and she's been doing solo stuff since. There was a good, but very poorly received album a few years ago called "Mono". I think people have unfairly characterized her as just a musical history curiosity because of her marriage to Kurt and haven't taken her seriously. This attitude was not helped by her substance abuse problems which are now a thing of the pretty distant past. The singer you're confusing her with who was the frontwoman for The Cranberries, Jesse, is Dolores O'Riordan who is also doing solo work now since The Cranberries are on a possibly permanent hiatus while the members raise their famiies. Dolores also has a family now, but they're old enough now that she feels she can do a bit of recording and performing.

how early does everyone think early-enough-to-get-in really is? the venue only holds 400 people and the rsvp list is getting mighty big.
