On November 16-18 , Mike Carbonaro will present the 2007 NATIONAL BIG APPLE COMIC BOOK, ART, TOY, & SCI-FI EXPO. This three-day, annual event, now in its 11 th year, will be held at the Penn Plaza Pavilion , on 7 th Avenue at 33 rd Street, directly across from Madison Square Garden. There will be more than 300 dealers & exhibitors, showcasing comics, toys, action figures, original art, videos, autographs, non-sports cards, TV & movie memorabilia & more. It’s the place to buy, sell or trade your collectibles!

Steranko will be leading a ground-breaking seminar in Mastering Narrative Technique for comic books on Sunday. Valiant Comics will be holding its second annual reunion, which will include two panels about Valiant Comics, its people, its impact, and future projects.

There will be free giveaways at the door and throughout the convention including IFC dvd's for the first 200 attendees each day, DC Comics pins, movie posters and passes, comic samplers, and more.

Want to learn how to create and break into comics? The Big Apple Convention will help with panels and seminars all three days. On Friday the Comicbook Artist's Guild will discuss getting started with self publishing. On Saturday Andy Schmidt , Peter David , Koi Pham , and John Barber will talk about breaking into comics. On Sunday the legendary Steranko will host a four-hour seminar of narrative technique for comic books.

There will be Q&A sessions with top celebrities, including Walter Koenig , Katey Sagal , Gigi Edgley , and Kristen Bell .

In the Combat Corral NY Jedi will be hosting its famous Lightsaber Acadeny on Saturday, aspiring jedi and sith of all ages can learn the art of fighting skills and choreography of the lightsaber. Also, the fantasy live action role-playing organization Fellwinged Gaming I ndustries will demonstrate their game playing and combat system with padded weapons. Convention attendees are invited to create a character and join the game!

Saturday will be gaming day at the Big Apple Convention with a full day of gaming events and tables including board games and role-playing games.

For the first time the Big Apple Convention will host a mini film festival ! On Friday night Mark Bode, son of Vaughn Bode and accomplished cartoonist and artist in his own right will host his famous and risque Cartoon Slideshow Concert (18 years old and up only). On Saturday night, Hank Braxton's feature-length fan film “ Return of the Ghostbusters ” will be screened, preceded by the short “ The Devil You Know ” by Bill Rogers. On Sunday the Big Apple Convention will present “ Darkon ,” the award-winning documentary on the live action role playing organization, courtesy the Independent Film Channel, preceded by “ The Gladiatrix Commando ,” an “action music video” by the Big Apple Convention's own Captain Zorikh and Jolie Voltaire.

And of course, what would the Big Apple Convention be without the ever-popular CAPTAIN ZORIKH'S COSTUME CONTEST with hundreds of dollars in prizes on Sunday.
