Distinguished Russian pianist Alexander Braginsky, accompanied by
his wife Tanya Remenikova on the cello, will perform a recital at
Yamaha’s midtown Piano Salon on Tuesday, November 6th. This is
the second of a four concert series hosted by Yamaha Artist
Services, Inc., in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Alexander Braginsky was born and schooled in Moscow, where he
began studying piano with the famous Alexander Goldenweiser at
the age of six. Braginsky’s pieces range from Baroque to avant-
garde and he has performed over twenty world premiers. His
performances have been in the former USSR, Israel, England,
Belgium, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China,
Spain, France, and the United States. Braginsky has recorded for
DDF, Sound StarTone, and d’Note labels, as well as made multiple
appearances on BBC, National Public Radio, RTB-BRT and others.
He is a Professor on the faculty of International Music Summer
Course in Vienna, Austria, and has taught master classes across
Europe, Asia, and North America. He is the Artistic Director of the
Musicians in Debut International (MIDI) as well as the Founding
President and the Artistic Director of the International Piano-e-
Competition, a biennial competition that brings the worlds of
technology and music together and features the Yamaha
Disklavier-Pro piano. Braginsky currently teaches piano at the
University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and at the
Hamline University, St. Paul.
Tanya Remenikova is the wife of Alexander Braginsky, and
performs with him often. She graduated from the Tchaikovsky
Conservatoire and is well known for her international performing
career, which has brought her to concert halls in cities across the
globe including Moscow, London, Frankfurt, Florence, and Shanghai.
She has been a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic, Jerusalem
Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, and the Ochestre Nationale de
Belgique. In the U.S., Remenikova has performed in New York,
Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Kansas City, and
the Aspen Music Festival. Remenikova has recorded artists such as
Prokofiew, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, and Britten on the DDF and
Sound Star Tone Labels. She is a professor and chamber music
coach at the University of Minnesota School of Music and she has
served as an Artist-in-Residence at Cambridge University in
England. She has also taught master classes in Taiwan and the
Republic of China.
