A Rooftop Block Party fundraiser for New Design High School,
featuring graffiti artists, MCs, DJs, rock bands, poetry, dance and
dramatic performances, followed by a program of urban short films
from around the world.

Rooftop Films and
New Design High School present a day-long music and graffiti art festival at Open Road
Rooftop, a beautiful urban space overlooking the Lower East Side
that is decorated with magnificent graffiti murals. The benefit
will run all day long, with live music, DJs, Mural Art Workshops,
and other performances and the event is hosted by the legendary
Fab 5 Freddy.
Due to city and state-wide budget cuts announced early February,
New Design is being forced to raise money or they will have to
discontinue numerous Arts Integration Programs, which include after
school and summer initiatives, programs that enable them to keep
their students in a creative learning environment. To help support
one of our partner schools, Rooftop Films is helping to organize a
spectacularly festive event in this stunning rooftop space.
Tickets: Tickets are $5 for kids (18 and under) and adults can buy tickets
for $15 or $25 at
http://going.com. All tickets are general admission and if you want to help the
school but can't attend, you can just make a donation to the school
by buying a ticket at any of the above rates.
