"Shades of Jazz on Noir" film combines the passion and despondency
of classic film noir with the texture and dynamism of live modern
jazz improvisation, resulting in a unique sensory experience for
enthusiasts of film, jazz, and new music.
The emotional path required to improvise complements film
noir’s crude and joyful reality in a unique and little-used
way, creating the music of film noir as it could have been. Shades
of Jazz on Noir, shows the antagonistic character of film noir,
which is the femme fatale. The film’s story arc, voiceover,
and musical accompaniment portray film noir’s sultry,
treacherous, and iconic leading women.
