GORDON STONE BAND
For over 30 years, on banjo and pedal steel guitar, Gordon Stone has been writing his genre-crossing music, and now attracts international attention with his latest configuration of musicians including, former band member, Caleb Bronz on drums, and UVM’s Jon McCartan on bass. After kicking off 2006 at snoe.down at the Olympic Stadium in Lake Placid, NY with his band: jamming with the Everyone Orchestra; sitting in with moe., Gordon stays busy this summer playing dates locally and regionally with Caleb and Jon and joins Mike Gordon and Ramble Dove at Honky Tonk the Vote benefit for Bernie Sanders Senate Race in Vermont, Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Al & the Transamericans reunite for the first time in two years. In 2005 Gordon won "Best Instrumentalist" and his fifth studio recording, "Rhymes With Orange" won "Best Instrumental Album" - He won an Emmy for his work on Vermont Public Television's "Windy Acres" - He has been busy working on a new muscial configuration with African hand drummers so look for more exciting work from this venerable freelance banjo picker and pedal steel guitarist. In the 90's you could find Gordon in the studio recording with "Phish" on their releases "Picture of Nectar" and "Rift" or jammin' with them live on stage.
