DCTV Presents: The End of the Line (Event Over)
Rupert Murray | 83 min. | UK | 2009
The End of the Line, the first major feature documentary film
revealing the impact of overfishing on our oceans, had its world
premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
Filmed over two years across the world, it follows investigative
reporter Charles Clover as he confronts politicians and celebrity
restaurateurs who exhibit little regard for the damage they are
doing to the oceans.
The End of the Line is also a leading example of the new wave of
documentary. Made outside of the established broadcasting structure
and integrated with the work of NGOs and progressive companies, the
film was largely financed by not-for-profit foundations in the UK
and the USA.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Sea to Table, an
honored family fish business that partners with local fishermen
from sustainable wild fisheries, finding better markets for their
catch. All audience members will also receive a Sustainable Seafood
Guide from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
