On Saturday, November 21st, Midnite returns to SOBs after a too long hiatus. Last time the band graced the stage it was an epic show.
Midnite is one of the most highly respected roots reggae bands playing today. Originally from St Croix, the band was formed in the 80s by brothers, Vaughn & Ron Benjamin. Since their first album Ras Mek Peace (Before Reverb and Without Delay), the group has been touring steadily all around the world.
Though the band has had a fluid cast of musicians over the years, one thing that has remained constant is lead singer Vaughn Benjamin's anchoring vocals. Vauhgn's lyrics are potent and his voice is distinctive.
Fans know that the concerts can stretch as long as 3 hours, and its a testament to the groups music that they are able to hold an audience's attention for that long.

"JAMsession" featuring the legendary and enigmatic Tony Rebel, alongside Queen Ifrica- Jamaica's undeniably -most prolific female lyricist in recent reggae memory. Both sing a gritty yet melodic style that bridged the gap between Reggae and Dancehall. These two extraordinary talents will make their debut at Rock with Squeeze. Their performances is sure to leave you wanting more.

I am very excited about recent developments. On 11/6, the Forward Reggae Fridays Reunion party was a huge success. On 11/13, Reggaeholics return with a "Dancehall Marathon" that will likely be the party of the year for real reggae fans. Come out and support and keep reggae growing in Manhattan.

Consciousnyc.com and Stateside Revolution is back once again with another Celebration of Life and truth. They schools hailed Christopher Columbus as a brave explorer, a great navigator maybe, but I can say he wasn't the first to arrive, nor was he the first to stay. He opened the floodgates for Europe's own interior conflicts to spread west. With that came disease, pillaging, bloodshed and eventually modern day slavery Columbus was no hero of mine! So on this day federal government has blessed me with the day off to spread the word Christopher Columbus was a Damn Blasted Liar!!.

Let the truth be known DJ Gringo (Stateside Revolution) is inspiring a positive change thru his musical gifts as he blesses the mic to mark the occasion, special craft work and all around favorite tune selector DJ Styff of Strugglers Movement always kicks things up another notch insuring everyone that follows brings there A+ game, rounding out the bill record producer and mixologist veteran DJ Liondub will definitely bless us with something new from his Brooklyn studio. From the Far East of LI that is, Blog TV host Jugglerslife Soundstation will bring some truth n rights from the island to the city dance. Guaranteed someone will be called a liar tonight.

Backayard Magazine will release there latest Issue dedicated to "Women in Reggae". This issue features of CNYC's Bintou inside so be here to get your copy.
