    Yay!!!

    Wait a minute, though...

Maybe going.com, Fred, and I are the same person!!!

    OH NOES!!!!

    Or maybe it's a conspiracy...

Or maybe people actually believe in the free flow of ideas and dialogue, you know, like in a democracy.

      * Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That sounds like something a fundamentalist would say, implying that the truth is absolute. Not recognizing the perspective of others smacks of an absence of objectivity.

We were supposed to arrive at the dollar per dollar account of the spending in Iraq. And also start holding people accountable for actions and spending. Somehow all that disappeared in the war of words politicians play.

That is truth. Numbers and actions. Not words and perceptions.

How hard someone waves the flag over my head telling me not to question the government.

That's truthiness, which a fundamentalist loves to use in its manipulative, extremist rhetoric.

Two simple steps which always work:

    1) First, free speech is determined "unappropiate" by a government authority by who knows what means.

    2) Then ownership rights are used to circumvent the First Amendment.

This is how the FCC and Corporate Media work together to suppress free speech.

There was a law in place to prevent this. It prohibited major media outlets from owning small independent news companies.

That law was struck down by the Republican Congress and Bush.

Now major media conglomerates are eating up independent journalists and pushing their own views or just firing anyone who disagrees.

      Simple yet effective.

Back up post since one knows which thread she will blow away next:
      ==================

I wrote the rules up at the request of a couple of people.

A couple people decide what 1337 people will post. Yeah that's great there.

Jaz asked for this and he just pointed out that it was already there.

So let me guess, Paul was one of those people who 'helped' with these rules huh??

      :-|

I know that you don't like me deleting any posts, you think it is a power trip and censorship and all that (I saw your message in your little soapbox group) but it's not.

The threads didn't need to be deleted, you could've just told people not to post anymore in there. Did Paul tell you to delete them? Or was it your own inability to defend your argument that made you do it?

This has actually been a good week around here. Thoughts haven't been killed. Without the group being hijacked by one or two people for their off topic rants

People have other threads they can create and use. No one is or ever was tying their hands. Sure is quiet though, just like a curfew imposed by force.

      Thank you your highness...

I know right??? It's like life or death for them to have their view of "peace and quiet".

It's hilarious because they see my every post as a threat of some sort. Like if they are not able to think for themselves and post what they like. They have to stick to a certain style or they feel lost, confused, and threatened.

The power-tripping admin deleted every single post of mine on that thread.

Can you imagine people like this in power in real life???

It would be back to old business with a bunch of self-grandiose dictators/kings running everything.

THANK GOD for the Constitution of the United States of America. Thank you forefathers!

    GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I am betting $5 dollars per gallon gas by August 1. And $20 per gallon within five years. Oil is what 125 now? up from under 100 just a year ago. Eventually "mass transit trains everywhere" will start to look like a good idea. I am just laughing at the fools who some months ago were talking about how gas is more "economical" than a network of subways across America hahahahahaha. A real supply crunch is predicted for 5 years from now, which means gas prices could explode if this actually happens - my $20 per gallon guess is for conditions similar to today. So if a crunch does happen your car will be useless and you won't be able to sell it either.
