As a general rule only about 30% of RSVPs for any event show up. On Halloween with a million other events going on it's probably more like 15%. So putting a cap on RSVPs is potential suicide because people who would actually show up might not be able to get on the list and a ton of people jsut RSVPing for the hell of it with no intention of showing up will be on the list. So the guys made the right move by not capping the list.

And by popular he means, did you happen to notice that over two thousand people RSVP'd to this? At no time at all did you say to yourself: "I'd better arrive as soon as possible?"

But, it's not just the late-commers that get on my nerves. The organizers (sorry guys, but it's true) REALLY should have closed the RSVP before it reached such a high number.

The people were fun..The bar was busy most of the night..The muisc was great!!!!

Like most RSVP events around town it's first come first serve. If you knew the doors were at 8:30 and you didn't get there until 10:15 then you should have expected as much. Also, look on the event page again:

"Please Note: Unless otherwise stated by the event's organizer, RSVP does not guarantee admission. Venues always have discretion over capacity issues. Arriving early is always a good idea for a popular event."

i agree for an event with an rsvp of 2000+ you must come early, if you expect to go in

yeah so it was ok. i like to party in dim lighting so yeah, that kinda turned me off.


kinda felt like they were throwing a loft party at a fancy schmancy art show room. eh i'm sure it got more fun after we left?

oh and to the dude below that obviously has no clue about how events operate in nyc. people go for large rsvp lists because there is no guarantee that people will come. it was halloween. there was tons of other shit going on so they were covering their asses. you wanna go? then get there early.

don't wanna go early? then have like 3 back up plans. rsvp to everything and go to whichever party you want.

You have to come early if you want to get in, especially if you see that 2000+ RSVPed. I thought it was pretty cool.

There was plenty of absinth... I was there, and I was drinking absinth... Maybe you went to the wrong bartenders...
